A regular hexagon is made of six equilateral triangles, so the circumradius equals the side length. Example: side 10 in → area 259.81 in², perimeter 60 in, flat-to-flat width 17.32 in.
Hex tiles and pavers, hex bolts and wrenches (measured flat-to-flat), honeycomb, gazebos and garden beds. For a hexagonal tile, the short diagonal is the width you measure between flat sides; the long diagonal goes corner to corner.
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Sides / vertices | 6 |
| Interior angle | 120° |
| Sum of interior angles | 720° |
| Number of diagonals | 9 |
| Exterior angle | 60° |
Multiply the side length squared by 2.598 (3√3 ÷ 2). Side 4 → 41.57.
Flat to flat, which is the short diagonal: √3 × side.
