Is a virtual coin flip fair?

Yes. Each flip uses the browser’s cryptographic random generator with an exact 50/50 split. Real coins are very close to fair too, though studies suggest a tiny bias toward the side that started facing up.

Streaks are normal

In 100 flips it’s common to see a run of 6 or more of the same side. Each flip is independent: after five heads, the next flip is still 50/50.

Frequently asked questions

What are the odds of heads?

50% on every flip.

What are the odds of 3 heads in a row?

1/2 × 1/2 × 1/2 = 1/8, or 12.5%.
